How To Not Overeat On Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving week is upon us. It's hard to get the thoughts of all of the delicious food that will be available to over indulge on. If you're anything like my family, we stuff ourselves and sleep most of the day away.

This year I've come up with a few ideas to help prevent myself from feeling stuffed. (pun intended)

1. Drink your Shakeology before you go. There is nothing worse then being starving and filling your plate to the brim of everything that you can get your hands on. Eat breakfast, drink water, and if you can get a workout in before you go.

2. Be Picky. There are tons of options for food, eat your favorites, skip the foods you can get everyday. Skip the foods that you can buy at a store in a package. Be aware of your portions, and allow yourself 1 dessert.

3. Drink water. Before you go back for seconds, drink a bottle of water and wait 20 minutes. If you listen to your body, your going to be able to avoid the stuffed feeling.

4. Plan a family activity. Whether it's a game, flag football, or going for a walk do somehting together. Create memories, be thankful to be together. The food isn't the reason for the season!

5. Do the BEST you can do. If you're just starting to think about getting healthy, realize that 1 day won't make or break you. Plan ahead of what you want to accomplish that day. If you go in with a plan, you are more likely to say no to certain foods that aren't that necessary.

BONUS TIP: Give away the leftovers! Get back to your routine once you leave or clean up. Don't make 1 day turn into a week!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for you being in my life.
