How To Overcome Negative Thoughts

I try to be a person that thinks positive over negative when things occur, but let me tell you a little story of why it's so important to me to constantly be refocusing on this area of my life.

We all have people in our lives that can be debbie downers. Unfortunately the person that can be seriously pessimistic in my life is someone who I've lived with growing up and will always be a part of my life. Do I love this person any less for it, no, but I have to be very careful about how I control my emotions when we are together. What I do struggle with, is that because I grew up in this enviornment, I am prone to acting or reacting to things in a negative way. It's something I struggle with on a daily basis. It's why you RARELY, if ever, see me post anything negative on social media. I know that you don't care about anything that is happening in my life or my mind that isn't positive, uplifting, and has some value for YOU. {So if you've ever wondered why I constantly post POSITIVE things that motivate, support, or encourage you, or things that will help you in your everyday life, now you know the real reason.}

It's scary to admit these things to ourselves and to others, but I figure, if it's something I have to deal with, there are others that are dealing with it as well. Here are some tips on how I focus on the positive.

1. Daily personal development. NO MATTER WHAT.

{Especially in the mornings, it's a great way to start your day, get your mind right.}

2. Surrounding yourself with positive people.

{For me, this is a HUGE reason why I'm absolutely in love with my Team Beachbody family. They are fun, supportive, kind, and ALWAYS positive.}

3. Take care of yourself. Eat right. 3-5 workouts a week minimum.

{This is vague, but seriously, get into a routine of doing it. Your life will change. The better you feel about yourself the more confident you will be and the more positive your thoughts will be.}

These 3 areas are what I preach. It has always been something that I've been working on, but I have to tell you, now that I'm a Mom, I'm working harder. I don't want my baby to grow up in a negative enviornment. I don't want her to struggle like I do.

If you struggle with negative thinking I encourage you to get on your smartphone and go to the podcast app and search Brendon Burchard. His podcasts are 6-12 minutes and will get you in the right mindset for your day, and may even change your life.
